The laborers who work in a construction site are people whose jobs are unstable and complicated, with hidden dangers. The working hours are long and with few days off. Most of them hope the daily work can be completed before sunset, because daylight is more adequate and safe.
Unskilled labors are usually strong, with dark skin, because they need enough strength to climbing high and carry heavy loads in broad daylight. Wang Jia-hong (王嘉宏), who has worked in construction sites for over eight years, said, “A lot of young people just want to get high salary but cannot endure all kinds of trial of doing difficult works.” He suggested that it is much better to act only once than think a thousand times. The most direct way of learning is to experience something by ourselves. Survival of the fittest!
Regardless of the weather, they still have to work. Those constructions need a lot of time to complete, so laborers seldom have weekends. Although manual workers’ working place is not as clean as other places – the clothes could be stained with dust and mud. However, those workers have made a lot of efforts to complete their works. If there is no one doing manual works, how can we live in a stable and solid building? All occupations are of equal value.
