The “Christmas Charity Road Running”event was held by Advanced Development Association (台北建築世代會) and Kid’s Bookhouse on tenth December with over 4,000 people participating. Kid’s Bookhouse made a lot of efforts to help children and improve society.

Most of manual labor jobs are unskilled positions. Despite being unskilled, many manual labors pay well due to dangerous workplace. They generally don‘t have a regular employer. So the jobs are more insecure and have low stability. The manual labors need to face a lot of problems, one of them is that the manual labors are the less conspicuous labor group in society.
In Taiwan, there is a group of people who get their hands dirty doing manual work and devote themselves to public construction, but few people seem to appreciate their contributions and some people even despise them—they are the blue-collar workers.
Although labor’s work isn’t glamorous, but all of them put in a lots of hard work, it’s worthy to respect. If there aren’t anyone want to do these, how can we live in any sturdy buildings? All occupations are considered of equal value.
The Taiwanese government held 10 public hearings from November 12th to 14th in the northern, central, southern and eastern part of Taiwan. And 3 public hearings will be held in December.
We have randomly interviewed 41people to realize opinions of part of public. Based on our investigation, most of the people know the issue of importing food from Fukushima area.Our survey finds that 34.1% of the people think it’s doesn’t matter, 12.2% agree to import the foods.
Tsai administration is planning to import food and produce from the five counties near Fukushima. In order to settle the dispute over importing contaminated food from Japan, the government has held a series of public hearing around the country in the past few weeks. However, there are still a lot of questions and doubts among the public.

A gap year is an experiential semester or year. There are different kinds of gap years. In Western countries, young people would take a year off between high school and college in order to deepen practical, professional, and personal awareness.
Some people think that gap year is a way to escape from reality, and others criticize that it is just a waste of time doing non-professional jobs abroad. However, Silvia Lin（林婷宜）, a 21-year-old Taiwanese student, demolished those arguments by her adventures in Europe.
“Gap year ” is a different way to learn without textbooks. It is a long break after graduating without going to work. It is said to be a turning point for most people who had experienced gap year.
